TB is a world-wide problem

TB is still a world-wide problem. In April 1993, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared TB as a global emergency and called for international collaboration in the fight against this disease. It has been estimated that:

  • - about one fourth of the world's population has been infected with the tubercle bacilli
