******************************************************************************************
The Secretary for Security, Mr Tang Ping-keung, today (April 14) presented appointment certificates to the Security Bureau Youth Uniformed Group Leaders Forum Advisory Board established at the end of last year. He also congratulated two youth members of the Leaders Forum on winning the first prize of the 25 Years On, Our Hong Kong, My Story Video Contest organised by the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (OCMFA) earlier.

The Security Bureau (SB) established the Leaders Forum in October last year to contribute to the initiative in the Chief Executive's 2022 Policy Address to deepen the participation of government departments and civil service grades in youth work and organised a series of training activities for the members. At the ceremony, Mr Tang presented appointment certificates to five members of the Advisory Board, namely Founding Chairman Mr Yeung Fun-bun, Chairman Ms Cheng Cheung-ling, Permanent President Mr Chan Hak-kan, President Mr Cheung Wah-fung and President Mr Kwan Chi-ping. Noting that the Advisory Board members are distinguished leaders from various sectors, Mr Tang thanked them for their staunch support to the Leaders Forum by leveraging their experience, network and enthusiasm for serving society to enrich the training of the Leaders Forum and the experience of youth members, and provide valuable advice to the development of the Leaders Forum, striving to nurture more outstanding leaders for society.

Mr Tang also congratulated the two Leaders Forum's members, Mr Horace Wong and Miss Carmen Pereira, on winning the first prize of the 25 Years On, Our Hong Kong, My Story Video Contest organised by the OCMFA earlier. The winners shared their feelings, and their winning video titled "Hong Kong's Story - Change and Continuity" was shown at the ceremony. The contest, organised by the OCMFA, provided a platform to tell the success stories of "one country, two systems" through short videos, and promote Hong Kong which has entered a new era and embarked on a new journey to international audience.

There are 50 youth members in the Leaders Forum. They are distinguished members of various disciplined and auxiliary services youth uniformed groups with great potential, and they have been chosen as members of the Leaders Forum following rigorous selection. In the past few months, the SB organised diverse activities for the members, which included the two-day, one-night induction course held at the Fire and Ambulance Services Academy in Tseung Kwan O, the two-day, one night event held at the Civil Aid Service Yuen Tun Camp, as well as seminars covering such topics as national security and "one country, two systems". The members also visited the Government Flying Service and a public transport operator to learn about corporate social responsivity.

In the future, the SB will organise more activities for the members of the Leaders Forum, including field trips to the Greater Bay Area and other Mainland cities, allowing members to deepen their knowledge of the developments of the country in various arenas. Internship in the SB will also be arranged to enhance the members' understanding of government operation and broaden their horizons.
