Tenders invited for contract for improvement works at Mui Wo, Phase 2 Stage 2

     The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (November 25) gazetted a notice to invite tenders for the contract for Improvement Works at Mui Wo, Phase 2 Stage 2 (Contract No. IS/2022/02). The closing time for the tender is noon on February 3, 2023.

     The works mainly include: 
  • Construction of a building to the west of Mui Wo Ferry Pier to re-provision the existing cooked food market and dry good stalls, public toilet and refuse collection point, and to provide a covered cycle parking area, a covered public car park and a podium garden;
  • Construction of an about 130-metre-long and a clear width of about 6m waterfront promenade to the north of the pier;
  • Construction of an about 200-m-long and a clear width of about 6m waterfront promenade to the south of the pier;
  • Construction of an entrance plaza, including a 110-m-long covered walkway to the west of the pier;
  • Construction of a bus terminus and a taxi stand to the west of the pier to re-provision the existing public transport interchange;
  • Construction of on-street car parking spaces and a public car park to the south of the pier;
  • Re-provisioning of a cargo loading and unloading area and goods vehicle garage at Mui Wo Ferry Pier Road; 
  • Construction of cycle parking areas and cycle tracks near the pier;
  • Widening of carriageway at Mui Wo Ferry Pier Road roundabout and associated road works; and
  • Ancillary works including tree preservation, landscaping, drainage, traffic aids, public lighting facilities and utilities. 

     The works are scheduled to commence in mid-2023 and will take about 54 months to complete.

     The CEDD has commissioned Jacobs China Limited to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors can download the tender forms and other particulars from the e-Tendering System. 

     Tenderers must submit completed tenders in both soft and hard copies. The soft copy of the completed tenders must be submitted via the e-Tendering System, and the hard copy must be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located at the lobby of the Public Entrance on the Ground Floor, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong.
