Government provides further support to fishing vessels and fish collector vessels with Mainland deckhands

A spokesman for the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said today (October 28) that a subsidy of $80,000 will be provided to eligible owners of each fishing vessel or fish collector vessel with Mainland deckhands.
The spokesman expected that about 1 700 fishing vessels or fish collector vessels with Mainland deckhands would be benefitted from the subsidy.
The application for the subsidy under the Anti-epidemic Fund will start on November 1. The deadline for application is February 28, 2023. Details of the application and application forms will be available later on the AFCD website (afcd.gov.hk/english/whatsnew/what_fis/what_fis.html).
The AFCD will also send details of the application to the trade via various channels, including letters, SMS, and fishermen organisations; and provide assistance as appropriate. For enquiries, please call 9308 5022/9308 5012.
