Appointments to Hospital Authority

The five serving members reappointed are Mr Ambrose Ho, Professor Wallace Lau Chak-sing, Professor David Shum Ho-keung, Professor Agnes Tiwari Fung-yee and Dr Thomas Tsang Ho-fai. All are reappointed for a term of two years. The tenure of Professor Shum will take effect from November 1, 2022, while that of the remaining four members will be effective from December 1, 2022.
The four members newly appointed are Ms Anita Fung Yuen-mei, Mrs Sylvia Lam Yu Ka-wai, Mr Anthony Tsang Hin-fun and Mr Henry Tong Sau-chai. They are appointed for a term of two years with effect from December 1, 2022. Brief biographies of the four new members are as follows:
Ms Fung is a member of the Board of M Plus Museum Limited. She serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Hang Lung Properties and BOC Hong Kong (Holdings) Limited. She is also a member of the Judicial Officers Recommendation Commission and a Court Member of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Mrs Lam is the former Director of Architectural Services. She is currently a Non-Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Authority and Vice-Chairperson of the Maryknoll Convent School Foundation.
Mr Tsang is a Certified Public Accountant. He is an Independent Non-Executive Director of a listed company in Hong Kong. He is also a member of the New Territories Regional Advisory Committee of the HA, a member of the Hospital Governing Committee (HGC) of Tuen Mun Hospital and a former member of the HGC of Tin Shui Wai Hospital.
Mr Tong is the Managing Director of an enterprise and a former Chairman of Pok Oi Hospital. He is also the Chairman of the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Hong Kong Metropolitan University and a member of the Basic Law Promotion Steering Committee.
The Secretary for Health, Professor Lo Chung-mau, welcomed the four new members for joining the HA. He also expressed gratitude to the five serving members reappointed and gave heartfelt thanks to the outgoing members, Mr Daniel Lam Chun, Ms Lisa Lau Man-man and Mrs Ann Kung Yeung Yun-chi, for their invaluable contribution to the HA during the past six years.
The HA comprises a Chairman, 22 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the HA. The membership list to be effective from December 1, 2022, is as follows:
