******************************************************************************************
The report delivered by General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping at the 20th National Congress of the CPC emphasises that the "one country, two systems" principle is the best institutional arrangement for ensuring sustained prosperity and stability in Hong Kong after its return to the motherland, which must be adhered to over the long term. The report also supports Hong Kong to play a greater role in realising the national rejuvenation by developing its economy, improving livelihoods and better integrating into the nation's overall development. The discussion on the "one country, two systems" principle mentioned in the report is a key action guide for Hong Kong to promote the transition from chaos to order and to advance from stability to prosperity. An accurate understanding of the essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC is conducive to ensuring the robustness of "one country, two systems" principle and enabling Hong Kong to better integrate into the nation's overall development. The Central and Western District Office (C&WDO), the Kwun Tong District Office (KTDO) and the Wong Tai Sin District Office (WTSDO) each held sessions in recent days and invited different keynote speakers with the aim of enabling Hong Kong youths and district figures to concisely grasp the essentials and connotations from the report and implement the essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC.

The C&WDO, together with the Association of the Hong Kong Central and Western District and CW Power, held a session on "Essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC" at Sai Ying Pun Community Complex Community Hall today (October 27). The Deputy Director General of the Hong Kong Island Sub-office of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government (LOCPG) in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Mr Yang Chengwei, was invited as the officiating guest while Convenor of the Executive Council and Member of the Legislative Council (LegCo) Mrs Regina Ip, Hong Kong Deputy to the National People's Congress (NPC) Mr Ip Kwok-him and LegCo Member Mr Chan Hok-fung were keynote speakers. The three keynote speakers introduced the key points of Secretary General's report in an easy-to-understand manner and clearly elaborated the Central Authorities' continuous, full and faithful implementation of the principles of "one country, two systems" and "Hong Kong people administering Hong Kong with a high degree of autonomy". Over 250 participants attended the session, including members of committees under the C&WDO, Central and Western District youth network, community leaders, representatives from commercial sectors and welfare organisations as well as teachers and students.

The KTDO held the session on "Study the Essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC for different sectors in Kwun Tong" with the Kowloon Federation of Associations Kwun Tong District Committee (KFAKTDC) at Sau Mau Ping Community Hall yesterday (October 26). Hong Kong Deputies to the NPC, Dr Bunny Chan and Mr Raymond Tam, were invited as keynote speakers. They expressed that the CPC is the governing party of the nation. The goals, directions and missions set out in the report to the 20th National Congress of the CPC would become policy objectives of the nation in different aspects and are closely linked to the development of Hong Kong under the "one country, two systems" principle. To implement the essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, different sectors in Hong Kong should gain a thorough understanding of the content of the report and development directions of the nation. The District Officer (Kwun Tong), Mr Andy Lam, also delivered a speech at the session. About 340 participants attended the session, including LegCo Members, Mr Tang Ka-piu and Mr Yiu Pak-leung; the Director of the KFAKTDC, Mr Wong Chun-ping; the Chairman of the Kwun Tong District Council (KTDC), Mr Wilson Or; the Vice-chairman of the KTDC, Mr Lui Tung-hai; members of committees under the KTDO, and district figures in Kwun Tong District.
