Transcript of remarks by CS at media session (with video)
*********************************************************
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr John Lee, at a media session after attending an event today (July 31):

Reporter: Mainland media has accused Professional Teachers’ Union to be the root cause of social instability, so should the group be disbanded in your own point of view and even they have said they are not advocating “Hong Kong independence”? Thank you.

CS: Any organisation, if it operates in Hong Kong, it has to act in accordance with the governing regulation or legislation, such as the Societies Ordinance, or the Companies Ordinance, or if it is registered as a union. It is important for any organisation to go about their business in accordance with the regulations and legislation. I will not go into discussing each organisation’s activities but it is important that they go about their duty in accordance with what is governed under the laws and regulations. Professional organisations should do professional matters and also act in accordance with what is required under the law or regulation.
