Hospital Authority announces senior appointment (with photo)

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointment today (March 22).
 
     Dr David Sun Tin-fung will be appointed as Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of North District Hospital (NDH) with effect from May 16.
 
     Dr Sun is a neurosurgeon by background. He is currently the Deputy HCE of Princess Margaret Hospital and North Lantau Hospital (NLTH), a position he has held since 2016. Dr Sun has steered a number of clinical service initiatives at NLTH, established the Clinical Service Coordinating Committee and enhanced the hospital's Quality and Safety Department. He has also started various collaboration programmes in the community such as the DIY Rehabilitation Programme, which involves volunteers, patients and hospital colleagues designing and beautifying rehabilitation equipment together.
 
     In addition, Dr Sun played a key role in the formulation of the Kowloon West Cluster Clinical Services Plan. Prior to his current role, he also served as Assistant to the HCE and Coordinator (Clinical Service) at NDH, and as Deputy Service Director (Quality and Safety) in the New Territory East Cluster.
 
     The HA Chairman, Professor John Leong Chi-yan, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, congratulated Dr Sun on his new appointment and wished him every success in taking up the new post.
