The Lands Department issued a total of eight consents for the sale of residential units in uncompleted developments between October and December 2004. The Department also issued two consents for the sale of uncompleted commercial developments in this period. All of them were issued within the Department's performance target time limit.
A spokesman for the Lands Department said today (January 6) that the eight consents involve 7,154 residential units located in various districts of Hong Kong. Seven of these developments comprising 6,730 residential units are estimated to be completed within 2005 and the remaining one development with 424 residential units by June 2006.
The Department issued four consents for the sale of 3,978 uncompleted residential units in December 2004. The four developments are located in various districts of Hong Kong. All of these four developments are estimated to be completed within 2005. One consent to sell uncompleted commercial development was issued in December 2004.
As at the end of December 2004, 15 applications for consent to sell uncompleted residential developments involving a total of 7,140 residential units and seven applications for commercial developments were pending approval. Six of the residential developments involving 643 residential units are estimated to be completed within 2005 and the remaining nine developments involving 6,497 residential units within 2006. There were also four applications pending approval for consent to assign, two in respect of commercial developments and two residential developments comprising 1,650 units.
Members of the public may obtain up-to-date information on consents to sell residential units in uncompleted developments issued for the last six months and cases pending approval as at the end of December 2004 by dialling LACO's Hotline 2147 5475 or on the Lands Department Website at www.info.gov.hk/landsd/.
The names of the developer, its parent company (if any), its solicitors, authorised person (including the name of the firm), the main superstructure contractor, the mortgagee bank (if any), the undertaking bank (if any) and the financier (if any) in respect of individual developments are also available to the public in the form of reports obtainable through the fax-on-demand facilities of the Hotline or the Lands Department Website.
