Chief Executive starts Policy Address consultation (with photos)
*********************************************************

The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, today (August 7) starts the consultation process for the second Policy Address of his term.

"There is bound to be a variety of views. Even if people agree on the policy objectives, they might have different ideas about how policies should be implemented. I welcome that. I encourage everyone to express their opinions during the consultation period. I am looking forward to working with various sectors to achieve effective governance," Mr Tsang said.

"When I begin to put pen to paper on the Policy Address, I will consider each and every view given to me during this consultation. In the final analysis, the address is to reflect the views of Hong Kong people and to serve their interests. Like my last Policy Address, I will take a pragmatic approach to set policy objectives and implement them as best as I can during my term."

Mr Tsang met representatives of the professional sector and members of the Liberal Party today. He will meet people from other sectors in the next few weeks. There will be more than 30 such consultation sessions.
