The Lands Department issued a total of six consents for the sale of units in uncompleted developments between October and December 2003.

Four consents were for residential units and two consents for commercial units. All of them were issued within the department's performance target time limit.

A spokesman for the Lands Department said today (January 7) that the four consents for residential units involved the sale of 1,989 units in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon districts. Three of these developments comprising 1,945 units are to be completed within 2004 and the remaining one in February 2005.

The department issued one consent for the sale of 64 residential units in an uncompleted development project last month (December 2003). The development is located on Hong Kong Island and is estimated to be completed by September 2004.

One consent to assign 442 residential units on Hong Kong Island was also issued in December 2003.

As at the end of December 2003, a total of 14 applications for pre-sale consent involving a total of 8,672 residential units located in various parts of Hong Kong were pending approval. Nine of them are expected to be completed within 2004 and the remaining five before October 2005. There were five applications for pre-sale consent involving commercial units pending approval.
