Remarks by S for S at media session after large-scale stress test conducted at Huanggang Port (with video)
******************************************************************************************
The Secretary for Security, Mr Tang Ping-keung, met the media with the Commissioner for Transport, Miss Winnie Tse, after the large-scale stress test conducted at Huanggang Port today (August 29). Following are the remarks of Mr Tang:

Reporter: For Hong Kong residents wishing to use the Hong Kong identity card to enter Shenzhen, do they need to hold an effective home return permit (Home Visit Permit), even when they are not using that document? Are there going to be any further joint drills with Shenzhen authorities? And what more still needs to be fixed after today's drill?

Secretary for Security: I would like to announce that, for passengers using our e-Channels, whether you are going to Chinese Mainland or coming back from Chinese Mainland to Hong Kong, you can use either your Hong Kong identity card or your Home Visit Permit. You can use both now. Although some of you may use the facial recognition contactless system, please remember you still have to bring along your Hong Kong identity card and your Home Visit Permit.

Today's exercise overall was smooth and we consider it a successful exercise. Whether we still need to do a big exercise as such, we will do an internal review. But of course, some small-scale exercises, in particular targeting individual areas, we still have to do quite a few.

(Please also refer to the Chinese portion of the remarks.)
