Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Lam said that the exhibition showcased Hong Kong's unique blend of East and West, creativity and cultural diversity, while reflecting the close ties between Hong Kong and Thailand through the collaborative works of artists and students from both places.
He added that Hong Kong was not only a popular tourist destination, but also a leading international business centre and an international education hub, with five of the world's top 100 universities. He encouraged people from Thailand to experience Hong Kong in person, whether for leisure, study, business, career opportunities or cultural exchanges.
Building on the success of its debut in Chiang Mai last year, the Bangkok edition brings Hong Kong's iconic scenes and rich cultural heritage to life through interactive installations and contemporary artworks. This year, the exhibition has also broadened its scope to promote the "Study in Hong Kong" brand.
In addition, the Bangkok ETO has partnered with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council to showcase over 50 innovative products created by Hong Kong's design talent. The office also collaborated with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to highlight the city's diverse tourism experiences, including its temples.
The "A Date in Hong Kong" exhibition is open to the public for free until July 12 on 1/F, Central Eastville, Bangkok. For more information, please visit www.facebook.com/adateinhongkong and www.instagram.com/adateinhongkong.
