DGCA visits Beijing (with photos)

     The Director-General of Civil Aviation, Mr Victor Liu, arrived in Beijing yesterday (June 17) and began his visit programme. He paid courtesy calls on various aviation offices, and had in-depth exchanges on promoting high-quality aviation development at both national and local levels, with a view to further enhancing collaboration efficiency and partnerships for civil aviation.

     During the visit, Mr Liu called on the Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Mr Song Zhiyong, and expressed his gratitude for the great care and staunch support of the CAAC throughout the years. He also briefed Mr Song on the latest civil aviation developments in Hong Kong, further strengthening co-operation and supporting the National 15th Five-Year Plan, so as to better integrate into and promote the high-quality development of civil aviation.

     Mr Liu also met with the Director-General of the Air Traffic Management Bureau of the CAAC, Mr Miao Xuan, to discuss fostering co-operation in air traffic management, enhancing the operational efficiency of the aviation industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and promoting collaboration in Asia Pacific. 

     In addition, Mr Liu visited the Flight Inspection Center of the CAAC and the Beijing Aircraft Technology Research Institute of the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd to learn about the innovative technologies and development trends of China's aviation industry and to explore co-operation opportunities.

     Mr Liu will continue his trip tomorrow (June 19). Afterwards, he will proceed to the National Academy of Governance to attend the opening ceremony of the dedicated National Studies Course for the management personnel of the Civil Aviation Department and Hong Kong's aviation sector. He will also take part in the first day of the course, sharing insights with the participants on how to align proactively with the National 15th Five-Year Plan, so as to contribute to the aviation development of the country and Hong Kong.

     Accompanying Mr Liu to Beijing were the Assistant Director-General of Civil Aviation (Air Traffic Management), Mr Hui Man-ho, and the senior management, who will also join the National Studies Course afterwards.
