******************************************************************************************
The Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau led the trade to participate in the 22nd China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) held from today (May 21) to May 25 in Shenzhen by setting up a Hong Kong Pavilion and a new dedicated pop-up store to promote Hong Kong's cultural and creative industries.

Officiating at the opening ceremony of the Hong Kong Pavilion, the Under Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Raistlin Lau, said the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region proactively aligns with the National 15th Five-Year Plan and has been deeply involved in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. This year's ICIF is an important cultural event in the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan. Hong Kong will leverage the country's strategic opportunities to promote cross-sectoral cultural exchanges through the combination of showcases and sales in the ICIF to foster Hong Kong's further integration into the country's overall development.

Under the theme "Unbox Hong Kong" and inspired by the concept of "blind boxes", the Hong Kong Pavilion at this year's ICIF showcases over 100 exhibits from nine Hong Kong brands and creative entities to introduce Hong Kong design trends. The new pop-up store in the Pavilion offers some 80 sets of selected Hong Kong cultural and creative products for visitors' on-site purchase. Some of the products come from the "Hong Kong Cultural and Creative Mosaic" series, which is jointly organised by CCIDA and the Palace Museum Cultural and Creative Products, with showcases in the Palace Museum Cultural and Creative Products Hong Kong Space inside the Palace Museum in Beijing, covering themes such as Hong Kong's intangible cultural heritage and art toys. Other products come from the exhibitors of the Hong Kong Pavilion and designers whose creations have been funded by CCIDA.

The Hong Kong Pavilion will also present talks and workshops during the fair to explore topics such as traditional craftsmanship and urban landscapes, enabling audience members to experience the creative process of Hong Kong designers up close.

The ICIF serves as an important business platform for China's cultural products and projects, promoting the development of Chinese cultural industries and driving Chinese cultural products to go global.
