TD deeply saddened by passing of operator staff member

A spokesman for the TD said that, at the time of the incident, a private car had stopped on the slow lane of Cheung Tsing Highway towards Kowloon and the staff member went to the scene to follow up and provide assistance. Initial investigations revealed that the lane control signal near the scene had already displayed a red cross, indicating that the slow lane of that road section was closed. In addition, the staff member was wearing a reflective vest and was following the operator's guidelines. A patrol vehicle parked behind the private car also had its roof warning lights activated.
The spokesman stressed that the TD attaches great importance to work safety and has long strictly required operators to comply with work safety guidelines. The TD will follow up with the operator to strengthen safety measures as soon as possible. Police investigations into the cause of the incident are underway. The TD has requested the operator to submit a detailed report and render full assistance to the investigations. The TD will follow up appropriately based on the findings of the report.
