Government reappoints Chairman and members of Public Service Commission

     The Government announced today (April 17) that the Chief Executive has reappointed Ms Maisie Cheng Mei-sze as the Chairman of the Public Service Commission, as well as Ms Agnes Chan Sui-kuen and Mrs Ann Kung Yeung Yun-chi as members, from May 1, 2026, to April 30, 2028. The Chief Executive has also reappointed Mr Ivan Chu Kwok-leung and Mr Stephen Yiu Kin-wah as members of the Commission from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2028.

     Welcoming the reappointments, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mrs Ingrid Yeung, said, "Ms Cheng possesses outstanding leadership and a wealth of administrative and management experience. Over the past three years, she has been leading the Commission to perform its role very effectively, providing impartial and valuable advice to the Government on matters of appointments, promotions and discipline in the civil service. I am very pleased that she will continue to serve as the Chairman of the Commission. 

     "I also thank the four reappointed members for their valuable contributions over the years and trust that they will continue to offer fair and objective advice to the Government with a view to safeguarding the impartiality and integrity of the appointment, promotion and disciplinary systems in the civil service."

     The Commission is an independent statutory body. Its major role is to advise the Government on appointments, promotions and disciplinary matters in the civil service. The other serving members include Professor Francis Lui Ting-ming, Mr Victor Lam Wai-kiu, Mr Adrian Wong Koon-man and Mr Samuel Chan Ka-yan.
