STL to visit Beijing

     The Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Ms Mable Chan, will depart for a visit to Beijing tomorrow (August 18). The Permanent Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Kevin Choi, will also join the visit.

     During her visit to Beijing, Ms Chan will call on the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and meet with representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China, the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Railway Administration. She will also tour a local enterprise of smart transport systems to learn about their operation.

     Ms Chan and her delegation will return to Hong Kong on the evening of August 19. During her absence, the Under Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Mr Liu Chun-san, will be the Acting Secretary for Transport and Logistics.
