Proprietor fined for violation of safety legislation

     ​Vanquish Transportation Company Limited was fined $60,000 at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts today (August 15) for violating the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Cargo and Container Handling) Regulations. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
 
     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on January 26, 2024, at a container terminal in Kwai Chung. A worker, while carrying out his duties, was struck by a reversing tractor and died.
