OGCIO sets up "iAM Smart" registration service counter in Qianhai, Shenzhen (with photos)
******************************************************************************************
The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) announced today (October 9) the setting up of the second "iAM Smart" registration service counter on the Mainland, to allow Hong Kong citizens working and living on the Mainland to register for or upgrade to "iAM Smart+" without the need to return to Hong Kong. The new counter is located at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone in Shenzhen. After registration, citizens can easily access hundreds of online services from both the Government and public and private organisations through "iAM Smart" anytime, anywhere.

Starting from today, Hong Kong identity card holders can visit the "iAM Smart" registration service counter located on the ground floor of the Qianhai e-Station Government Service Center of Shenzhen Municipality at No.19, Qianwan 1st Road, Nanshan District, Shenzhen during service hours to register for or upgrade to "iAM Smart+". The service counter operates from Monday to Friday, 9am to noon and 2pm to 6pm (except public holidays). For details and registration requirements, please visit the "iAM Smart" thematic website at www.iamsmart.gov.hk/en/reg.html.

A spokesman for the OGCIO expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Authority of Qianhai of Shenzhen Municipality for its strong support. The registration service counter in the Qianhai e-Station Government Service Center is the second "iAM Smart+" registration service point in the Mainland cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) following the one in Guangzhou. The OGCIO spares no effort in promoting cross-boundary public services in the region and will continue the work on the setting up of "iAM Smart" self-registration kiosks at more locations in the GBA, bringing convenience to Hong Kong people living on the Mainland.

Since its launch in late 2020, "iAM Smart", a one-stop personalised digital service platform, now has more than 2.3 million registrations. Users can authenticate with a single digital identity using their personal mobile phones and access various online services. Popular services include the e-submission of student grant applications, Primary One Admission e-Platform, MyGovHK portal, eTax, Contactless e-Channel, renewal of vehicle licence, eHealth and the two electricity companies and the gas company.

The "iAM Smart" mobile app supports iOS and Android mobile phones using biometric authentication. Members of the public can download and use the app for free from Apple App Store, Huawei AppGallery, Google Play or by visiting the "iAM Smart" thematic website at www.iamsmart.gov.hk/en/download.html.
