71st International Meeting of Technical Authorities for Cableways concludes successfully (with photos)

     The 71st International Meeting of Technical Authorities for Cableways (ITTAB), hosted by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department from September 17 to 21, concluded successfully today (September 21).
      
     During the ITTAB, Hong Kong delegates and cableway regulators from overseas and the Mainland exchanged views on administration and regulatory control over the safety of aerial ropeway and funicular systems through activities including working meetings, site visits, experience sharing and accident reviews.
      
     The delegates discussed the latest technological developments and international standards for ropeway systems as well as the criteria for replacing key components of ropeways. Hong Kong delegates also shared their experience in the administration and regulation of aerial ropeways and funiculars with international cableway experts.
       
     The ITTAB is an annual event organised by member jurisdictions. This year, Hong Kong hosted the ITTAB for the first time with the participation of 29 delegates from 13 overseas and Mainland jurisdictions.
