Temporary traffic and transport arrangements on Lung Cheung Road from Saturday night to Sunday morning to facilitate road works

     The Transport Department (TD) today (September 14) reminded the public that the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on Lung Cheung Road from Saturday night (September 16) to Sunday morning (September 17) to facilitate road works:

(A) Road closures
 ---------------------
     The following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic:
  • The fast lane of Lung Cheung Road westbound between Lung Yin Road and Elizabethan Court (from 11.30pm on September 16 to 1.30am on September 17);
  • The fast lane of Lung Cheung Road eastbound between Phoenix House and Lion Rock Tunnel Road (from 11.30pm on September 16 to 5.30am on September 17); and
  • All lanes of the section of Lung Cheung Road westbound between Chuk Yuen Road and Nam Cheong Street (from 1.30am to 5.30am on September 17).

(B) Traffic diversions
 --------------------------
     During the full closure of Lung Cheung Road westbound, the following traffic diversions will be implemented:
  • Vehicles travelling westbound on Lung Cheung Road heading to Mei Foo are advised to travel via Lung Yin Road southbound, Chuk Yuen Road southbound, Junction Road westbound, Waterloo Road northbound, Cornwall Street westbound, Lung Yuet Road westbound, Tai Po Road westbound and Ching Cheung Road westbound;
  • Vehicles travelling southbound on Lion Rock Tunnel Road heading to Mei Foo via Lung Cheung Road westbound are advised to travel via Waterloo Road southbound, Cornwall Street westbound, Lung Yuet Road westbound, Tai Po Road westbound and Ching Cheung Road westbound;
  • Vehicles travelling westbound on Lung Cheung Road heading to Lion Rock Tunnel Road northbound are advised to travel via Lung Yin Road southbound, Chuk Yuen Road southbound, Junction Road westbound and Waterloo Road northbound;
  • Vehicles travelling northbound on Chuk Yuen Road heading to Mei Foo via Lung Cheung Road westbound are advised to travel via Ma Chai Hang Road southbound, Fung Mo Street southbound, Fu Mei Street westbound, Chuk Yuen Road southbound, Junction Road westbound, Waterloo Road northbound, Cornwall Street westbound, Lung Yuet Road westbound, Tai Po Road westbound and Ching Cheung Road westbound;
  • Vehicles travelling northbound on Chuk Yuen Road heading to Lion Rock Tunnel Road northbound via Lung Cheung Road westbound are advised to travel via Ma Chai Hang Road southbound, Fung Mo Street southbound, Fu Mei Street westbound, Chuk Yuen Road southbound, Junction Road westbound and Waterloo Road northbound; and
  • Vehicles travelling westbound on Lung Cheung Road heading to Lung Kui Road are advised to travel via Lung Yin Road southbound, Chuk Yuen Road southbound, Junction Road westbound, Waterloo Road northbound, Cornwall Street westbound, Nam Cheong Street northbound and Lung Cheung Road eastbound.

 (C) Bus route diversions
 ---------------------
     During the road closure period, the Lantau bound departures of Citybus overnight route Nos. N26 (Yau Tong - Tung Chung Station), N29 (Tseung Kwan O (Hong Sing Garden) - Tung Chung Station) and NA29 (Tseung Kwan O (Po Lam) - Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port), and the Mei Foo/Tsuen Wan bound departures of KMB overnight route Nos. N214 (Yau Tong to Mei Foo) and N290 (LOHAS Park Station - Tsuen Wan West Station) will be diverted and some of the bus stops will be suspended or relocated.      The bus companies will display notices to advise passengers on the special arrangements. Appropriate diversion signs will also be erected on-site to guide motorists. The TD anticipates that the travelling time at the road sections concerned will be slightly lengthened due to the diversion arrangements. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience.
 
     Members of the public are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow sufficient traveling time to cater for unexpected delay, and stay alert to the latest traffic news through the media or the TD's mobile application "HKeMobility" or website (www.td.gov.hk).
