In the evening, he attended the Welcome Dinner of the Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development in Macao.

Addressing the welcoming ceremony in the morning, Mr Cheuk said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government is committed to encouraging Hong Kong youth to participate in the development of the GBA and to give full play to their strengths to serve the needs of the GBA. He extended his gratitude to Guangdong Province for its staunch support for the scheme, and thanked all the participating enterprises for helping Hong Kong youth to look far and seize the huge opportunities arising from the GBA development.

He said, "I encourage all Hong Kong youth participating in the scheme to seize the opportunities and accumulate valuable working experience in the Mainland cities of the GBA. On personal level, they should learn the operations of different industries on the Mainland and interact with Mainland talent to build a solid foundation for their career development. On social level, they should deepen their understanding of national affairs and the latest development of the country, and make greater contributions to Hong Kong on leveraging its unique advantages of enjoying the strong support of the motherland and being closely connected to the world to better integrate into national development."

At noon, Mr Cheuk had a lunch meeting with member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guangzhou Municipal Committee and Secretary General of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee, Mr Bian Liming.

In the evening, Mr Cheuk arrived in Macao to attend the Welcome Dinner of the first Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development. He said that the report of the 20th National Congress released last year emphasised promoting the development of the GBA and supporting Hong Kong and Macao in better integrating into the overall national development. The HKSAR Government attaches great importance to the development of the GBA and is committed to deepening co-operation with different cities in Guangdong and the GBA. He said he hopes that this business conference, as a new platform for business exchanges between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, will bring together professionals and experts from the business sectors of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and even around the world, to help explore new business opportunities and seek new development.
