Another Land Sharing Pilot Scheme application received
******************************************************
The Development Bureau (DEVB) announced today (May 25) the receipt of another application under the Land Sharing Pilot Scheme (LSPS).

The application concerns a site at Lei Muk Road, Kwai Chung, covering about 1.2 hectares of private lot and adjoining government land, currently zoned "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Buildings with Historical and Architectural Interests Preserved for Social Welfare Facility Use" and "Open Space". The application involves about 912 public housing/Starter Homes units (the exact choice of subsidised housing type to be determined by the Government), 300 private housing flats and supporting facilities, with a total gross floor area of about 78 000 square metres. The application also proposes to preserve the existing Grade II historic buildings within the private housing portion for residential care homes for the elderly. The application is made by Gainful Sky Hong Kong Limited (whose parent company is Southeast Asia Properties and Finance Limited).

The Land Sharing Office (LSO) under the DEVB will co-ordinate with the departments concerned to facilitate and expedite the processing and vetting of the application.

Including the above, the LSO has received a total of six applications so far. Their key information and proposed development parameters have been uploaded to the LSPS webpage at www.devb.gov.hk/en/issues_in_focus/land_sharing_pilot_scheme/land_sharing_pilot_scheme_applications/application_received/index.html with the latest progress for public reference.

The DEVB announced earlier that the application period for the LSPS would be extended by one year to May 5, 2024, with its existing framework and requirements remaining unchanged. Interested project proponents should contact the LSO and submit applications as soon as possible.
