Mr Chan said at the opening ceremony that after the full resumption of normal travel between Hong Kong and the Mainland as well as overseas regions, the market has become more lively and vibrant.      Addressing guests at the ceremony, Mr Chan expressed gratitude to the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Home Affairs Department for their efforts in co-ordinating the Gourmet Marketplace. He also thanked the catering sector, especially Legislative Council Member (Catering), Mr Tommy Cheung; and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, for their active support to the event.

The first "Happy Hong Kong" Gourmet Marketplace took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai today (April 29) and tomorrow (April 30), with more than 100 booths which offers international delicacies, Chinese cuisines and local flavours. The marketplace also includes performances and children games to enable members of the public to enjoy delicacies from different places and spectacular performances under the joyful atmosphere.

The second "Happy Hong Kong" Gourmet Marketplace will take place next Saturday and Sunday (May 6 and 7) at the Sha Tin Town Hall Plaza and Sha Tin Park. The third "Happy Hong Kong" Gourmet Marketplace will be held on June 3 and 4 at the harbour-front VESSEL, Kwun Tong. Both events are free for entry and do not require admission tickets.
