S for S continues third day of visit to Beijing (with photos)

     The Secretary for Security, Mr Tang Ping-keung, conducted the third day of his visit to Beijing today (April 26).
    
     Mr Tang called on the Minister of Emergency Management, Mr Wang Xiangxi, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Management, Mr Xu Jia'ai; the Political Commissar of the National Fire and Rescue Administration, Mr Xu Ping; and the Director of the National Fire and Rescue Administration, Mr Chongsai; in the morning to exchange views on deepening overall co-operation in emergency management, mutual exchanges and trainings, as well as cross-boundary rescue collaboration. Noting that the search and rescue teams deployed by the country and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) joined hands for the first time to carry out search and rescue operations in the earthquake-stricken areas in Türkiye in February this year, Mr Tang expressed heartfelt gratitude to the country's search and rescue team for its support during the operations, enabling the HKSAR's search and rescue team to successfully rescue four survivors eventually. Mr Tang said he looks forward to establishing regular exchanges and trainings between the two teams to enhance collaboration during search and rescue operations.

     In the afternoon, Mr Tang called on the Minister of Justice, Ms He Rong, and they exchanged views on technology application and rehabilitation work in correctional institutions in both places. They also witnessed the signing of a new co-operation agreement between the Commissioner of Correctional Services, Mr Wong Kwok-hing, and the Presdient of the National Police University for Criminal Justice, Mr Zhang Enyou, to strengthen mutual visits, trainings and academic collaboration, and more, enhancing the Hong Kong Correctional Services Department's prison management and rehabilitation services.

     Mr Tang departed for Guangzhou in the evening and will visit Guangzhou and Shenzhen tomorrow (April 27).
