     With its strategic location, supreme connectivity, robust legal and financial systems, and business-friendly policies, Hong Kong is a global business hub that provides a secure and dynamic environment for enterprises to thrive; and a dominant gateway to the Mainland China and other Asian markets, said Deputy Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York, Ms Erica Lam.

     Speaking at the Columbia China Forum in New York on April 7 (New York time), Ms Lam shared with audience on the economic outlook and new business opportunities in Hong Kong. She also highlighted the latest measures introduced by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government to attract enterprises and talents to the city.

     "Hong Kong, with its strategic roles and advantages, offers ample opportunities for enterprises and individual talents to pursue development and to unleash their potential," she said.

     The two-day event, themed "Building Bridges, Envisioning Our Future" is Columbia University's undergraduate-led, China-focused forum that covers climate, finance, technology and entrepreneurship, arts and other issues. Other speakers included leaders from the political, academic and business fields in the United States and Asia, such as internationally renowned investor and Co-Founder of the Quantum Fund Mr Jim Rogers, Co-Founder of the Committee of 100 Mr Henry Tang, the President and Chair of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Mr Jin Liqun and former Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs of the United States Mr David Sandalow.
