Senior Counsel appointed

The Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal, Mr Andrew Cheung Kui-nung, is pleased to announce today (April 4) the appointment of four Senior Counsel of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. They are:
Mr Bruce Tse Chee-ho
Mr Anthony Chan Ho-ki
Mr Mike Lui Sai-kit
Mr Christopher Chain Siao-liang
The appointments are made by the Chief Justice under section 31A of the Legal Practitioners Ordinance.
The appointments will take effect from the date of the Instrument of Appointment, which will be executed on May 20, 2023, when the ceremonial proceedings are to take place at 10am in the Court of Final Appeal.
Special seating arrangements will be made for ceremonial proceedings having regard to the limited capacity of the venue.
The biographical notes of the newly appointed Senior Counsel are as follows:
Mr Bruce Tse Chee-ho
Mr Bruce Tse Chee-ho, aged 52, obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Manchester Metropolitan University. He was admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in 1997. He specialises in criminal matters.
Mr Anthony Chan Ho-ki
Mr Anthony Chan Ho-ki, aged 42, obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Laws degree from the University of London. He was admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in 2005. He has a broad civil litigation and advisory practice with an emphasis on public law and commercial law.
Mr Mike Lui Sai-kit
Mr Mike Lui Sai-kit, aged 42, obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Law degree from the University of Cambridge. He was admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in 2006. He has a general civil and commercial practice, including judicial review, discrimination and employment litigation.
Mr Christopher Chain Siao-liang
Mr Christopher Chain Siao-liang, aged 37, obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the University of Oxford. He was admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in 2008. He specialises in commercial and company litigation.
