Government appoints members to Hospital Authority

The two serving members reappointed are Professor Chan Wai-yee and Mr Philip Tsai Wing-chung, while the two newly appointed members are Mr Lawrence Chan Man-yiu and Mr Jat Sew-tong.
Mr Lawrence Chan is the Director of an international hotel group. He is also the Professor of Practice (Hospitality Asset Management) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the founder of a charitable foundation.
Mr Jat is a Senior Counsel. He is currently a member of the Standing Committee on Judicial Salaries and Conditions of Service, the Board of West Kowloon Cultural District Authority and the Disciplinary Chair Committee of the Securities and Futures Commission. Mr Jat is also the former Chairman of the Independent Police Complaints Council and former Chairperson of the Minimum Wage Commission.
The Secretary for Health, Professor Lo Chung-mau, welcomed the two new members for joining the HA. He also expressed gratitude to the two serving members reappointed and extended heartfelt thanks to the outgoing members, Mr David Fong Man-hung and Mr Franklin Lam Fan-keung, for their invaluable contribution to the HA during the past six years.
The HA comprises a Chairman, 22 non-official members, three public officers and one principal officer from the HA. The membership list to be effective from April 1, 2023, is as follows:
