Over 300 young musicians to perform at Music Office Annual Gala
***************************************************************
More than 300 young musicians from the band, orchestras and choirs of the Music Office under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will come together at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall at 3pm on March 26 (Sunday) to showcase their talent at the 2023 Music Office Annual Gala.

An array of delightful music pieces will be brought to the audience by the Music Office Youth Choir, the Music Office Children's Choir, the Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band, the Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra, the Hong Kong Youth Strings and the Hong Kong Youth Symphony Orchestra under the batons of Music Office instructors Lai Wing-yan, Kevin Ling, Kwok Kin-ming, Dr Joseph Kam and Lee Sing-wan.

Highlights include "The Heavens are Telling", a powerful and majestic choral work arranged from Haydn's oratorio "The Creation"; "Shanghai", an oriental symphonic band overture based on Chinese folklores; "Splendorous Jiangnan", a piece of Chinese music depicting the vibrancy and prosperity of modern Jiangnan with dizi, erhu and pipa as leading instruments; Mozart's string classic "Adagio and Fugue in C Minor, KV 546"; and the exotic "La Procession du Rocio", portraying the pageantry of a Spanish festival.

Awards will also be presented to outstanding trainees and members of the Music Office's band, orchestras and choirs at the concert.

Tickets priced at $80, $100 and $120 are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). For telephone bookings, please call 3166 1288.
