HYAB successfully concludes first youth exchange tour to Mainland after full resumption of normal travel (with photos)
******************************************************************************************
The Home and Youth Affairs Bureau (HYAB)'s first youth exchange activity in the Mainland after the full resumption of normal travel between Hong Kong and the Mainland was successfully concluded today (February 7). The Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Mr Clarence Leung, and the HYAB team, together with the Vice-Chairman of the Youth Development Commission, Mr Kenneth Leung, led some 30 Hong Kong youth representatives to visit Guangdong Province. The exchange tour focused on understanding the support available for Hong Kong youths to start businesses in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), so as to encourage them to seize the opportunities brought by the GBA development. The delegation also engaged in discussions about youth developments in Hong Kong and Guangdong.

The Hong Kong youth representatives of the delegation, comprising university students, working youths as well as youth workers from the Y. Elites Association and the Hong Kong United Youth Association, took the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link to Guangzhou. The delegation first exchanged views with the Guangdong Youth Federation on youth developments in Hong Kong and Guangdong, and explored opportunities on strengthening co-operation in the future. They then visited an entrepreneurial base supporting young people from Hong Kong and Macao to start businesses in the Mainland, a leading innovation and technology enterprise and a creative industry zone to learn about the latest developments in innovation and technology as well as creative industries in the GBA. The delegation returned to Hong Kong on the same day.

As stated in the Youth Development Blueprint released last December, the HYAB is actively taking forward the resumption of various youth exchange and internship programmes and will further enhance the breadth and depth of internship and exchange programmes in the Mainland and overseas in order to further promote Hong Kong young people's understanding of the country and the world through a multi-pronged approach.
