*************************************************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Judiciary:

In light of the Government's latest adjustments on anti-epidemic measures, the Judiciary announced today (December 13) that as from tomorrow (December 14), court users entering court premises would not be required to scan the venue QR code with the "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile application and present the QR code of the Vaccine Pass for active checking through the QR Code Verification Scanner.

â€‹Having regard to the changing public health situation, the Judiciary will continue to implement a series of measures with a view to ensuring that the courts can carry on business as safely as circumstances permit.

Persons who are subject to any quarantine requirement or compulsory testing while waiting for test results; or are tested positive for COVID-19 are still not allowed to enter Judiciary premises. Court users entering Judiciary premises are required to undergo body temperature check, and wear a surgical mask at all times unless otherwise directed or permitted by a Judge or Judicial Officer. Seating capacity will continue to be adjusted while protective shields and partitions will be maintained in courtrooms where appropriate. Cleaning and disinfection of public areas will continue to be carried out frequently as necessary.

The current requirement to carry out rapid antigen tests every day will continue to apply to all Judges and Judicial Officers and Judiciary support staff, as well as jurors, legal teams and prosecuting authorities for jury proceedings.

The Judiciary will continue to closely monitor the public health situation with a view to reviewing and adjusting the relevant measures as and when appropriate.

Court users should check the Judiciary website (www.judiciary.hk) for updated information, and follow the instructions of the Judiciary staff and security personnel.

For enquiries, court users may call the Judiciary's hotline at 2869 0869 during office hours.
