LegCo to consider Inland Revenue (Amendment) (Taxation on Specified Foreign-sourced Income) Bill 2022

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
 
     The Legislative Council (LegCo) will hold a meeting on Wednesday (December 14) at 11am in the Chamber of the LegCo Complex. During the meeting, the Second Reading debate on the Inland Revenue (Amendment) (Taxation on Specified Foreign-sourced Income) Bill 2022 will resume. If the Bill is supported by Members and receives its Second Reading, it will stand committed to the committee of the whole Council. After the committee of the whole Council has completed consideration of the Bill and its report is adopted by the Council, the Bill will be set down for the Third Reading.
 
     Meanwhile, the Inland Revenue (Amendment) (Tax Concessions for Family-owned Investment Holding Vehicles) Bill 2022, the Road Traffic (Amendment) (Autonomous Vehicles) Bill 2022 and the Development (Town Planning, Lands and Works) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill 2022 will be introduced into the Council for the First Reading and the Second Reading. The Second Reading debate on the Bills will be adjourned.
 
     On Members' motions, Mr Chan Yung will move a motion on "Comprehensively understanding the country's development and telling good stories of China and Hong Kong, China". The motion is set out in Appendix 1. Mr Tang Ka-piu and Mr Yim Kong will move separate amendments to Mr Chan Yung's motion.
 
     Mr Chan Han-pan will also move a motion on "Comprehensively reviewing and improving Hong Kong's dental service system and manpower needs". The motion is set out in Appendix 2. Ms Chan Hoi-yan, Ms Joephy Chan, Dr David Lam and Mr Lee Chun-keung will move separate amendments to Mr Chan Han-pan's motion.
 
     During the meeting, the Chief Secretary for Administration will present the Government Minute in response to the Annual Report of the Ombudsman 2022 and address the Council.
 
     The Chairman of the Committee on Rules of Procedure, Mr Paul Tse, will present the "Committee on Rules of Procedure of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Progress Report for the period January to December 2022" and address the Council.
 
     In addition, the Chairman of the Panel on Commerce, Industry, Innovation and Technology, Mr Shiu Ka-fai; the Chairman of the Panel on Information Technology and Broadcasting, Dr Junius Ho; the Chairman of the Panel on Welfare Services, Mr Chan Han-pan; the Chairman of the Panel on Manpower, Mr Luk Chung-hung; the Chairman of the Panel on Housing, Dr Lo Wai-kwok; the Chairman of the Panel on Transport, Mr Frankie Yick; the Chairman of the Panel on Constitutional Affairs, Mr Holden Chow; the Chairman of the Panel on Economic Development, Mr Jimmy Ng; the Chairman of the Panel on Education, Dr Priscilla Leung; and the Chairman of the Panel on Security, Mr Chan Hak-kan, will present the Reports of the related Panels and address the Council respectively.
 
     Members will also ask the Government 22 questions on various policy areas, six of which require oral replies.
