******************************************************************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:

The Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) exhibit, "Housing for Millions", is now showcased in the Urbanism and Architecture Exhibitions for Excellence titled "M3: Beyond Territories - Made. Make. Making" organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA). The roving exhibition is part of a series of activities in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It was held in Hangzhou, Beijing and New York earlier, and has returned to Hong Kong as the final stop from December 9. Members of the public are invited to visit. Admission is free.

The HA's exhibit "Housing for Millions" is being displayed at Chantal Miller Gallery, Asia Society Hong Kong Center. The exhibit visualises existing public housing estates as a splendid collection according to their years of completion and flat numbers. Visitors walking around the timeline are invited to browse through the vibrant and eventful timeline of public housing development in Hong Kong, encompassing "History", "Design Transformation", "Quality Living" and "Innovations and Technologies". The exhibit not only celebrates the past achievements of the HA, but also explores better housing design for tomorrow.

The HA, established for almost 50 years, is devoted to providing affordable quality housing for families in need. The HA thanks the HKIA for organising the exhibition and for inviting the HA to participate, which provides the HA with the opportunity to introduce the design concept of public housing estates to Mainland and overseas cities.

The opening ceremony for "M3: Beyond Territories - Made. Make. Making" Hong Kong Exhibition was held at Chantal Miller Gallery last night (December 9). Attendees included the Secretary for Housing, Ms Winnie Ho; the Deputy Director (Development and Construction), Mr Stephen Leung; Assistant Director of Housing (Project), Mr Patrick Luk; and Chief Architect of the Housing Department, Mr Max Wong.
