Hospital Authority announces senior appointment (with photo)

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointment today (November 17):
Dr Lau Ka-hin will be appointed as Hospital Chief Executive of Cheshire Home, Chung Hom Kok; Ruttonjee and Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals; and Tung Wah Eastern Hospital with effect from December 1.
Dr Lau is a specialist in psychiatry by background. He is currently the Chief Manager (Quality and Standards) in the Head Office. Dr Lau possesses solid experience both at corporate and cluster levels. In his current role, Dr Lau has co-ordinated the development of clinical services for a number of specialties, including internal medicine and surgery. He has also formulated new strategies and measures for the management of waiting time of the specialist out-patient clinics. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Lau has played a significant role in the establishment and operation of holding centres for the elderly and persons with disabilities, which are essential to relieve the service demand pressure of HA hospitals.
The HA Chairman, Mr Henry Fan, and the HA Chief Executive, Dr Tony Ko, congratulated Dr Lau on his new appointment and wished him every success in taking up the new role.
