Transport Department adopts Address Data Function of "iAM Smart" to facilitate submission of proof of address
******************************************************************************************
The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) announced today (October 31) that the Transport Department has adopted the Address Data Function of "iAM Smart". From now on, in lieu of uploading address proof, electronic bills of public utilities can be used as proof of address during online application for renewal of vehicle licence or full driving licence through "iAM Smart", making the process convenient and swift.

With the Address Data Function, users can save the address on their electronic billing through the "e-ME" auto form filling function. They can simply submit the information saved in "e-ME" as the proof of address when applying for renewal of vehicle licence and full driving licence online, saving the need to upload documents as the proof of address. For more details, please visit the "iAM Smart" website (www.iamsmart.gov.hk/en/about.html?p=em) or refer to the video (www.iamsmart.gov.hk/v.html?v=30).

More than 1.6 million users have registered for the "iAM Smart" one-stop personalised digital service platform and over 220 commonly used government, public and private online services are now accessible through the platform. Apart from using the Address Data Function in the above-mentioned licence renewal services, members of the public can also use this function in the Change of Address service to notify multiple government departments in one go electronically. The OGCIO will continue to actively promote the use of "iAM Smart", with an aim to encouraging more government, public and private online services to make use of the Address Data Function and bring convenience to members of the public for providing proof of address electronically. For information on registration and the services accessible through "iAM Smart", please visit the "iAM Smart" website (www.iamsmart.gov.hk).
