Special traffic and transport arrangements to be implemented in Wan Chai North and Tsim Sha Tsui for Cross Harbour Race on Saturday and Sunday
******************************************************************************************
The Transport Department (TD) today (October 21) reminded the public that to facilitate the holding of the Cross Harbour Race 2022, the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Wan Chai North and Tsim Sha Tsui on Saturday and Sunday (October 22 and 23):

Traffic and landing step arrangements

* The section of Expo Drive East, north of the junction with Expo Drive (outside Golden Bauhinia Square) (including the pick-up/drop-off area) will be temporarily closed from 0.30am to 1pm on October 23.

* The landing steps of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai, Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui and Nos. 1 to 4 of Kowloon Public Pier will be suspended from 9am on October 22 to noon on October 23.

Public transport arrangements

* The departure of the short-working route of the "water taxi" service at 7.20pm on October 22 will skip the stop at Tsim Sha Tsui East. Ferry services plying between Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui, and Central and Hung Hom, will be suspended from the first sailing to 11am and 11.30am on October 23 respectively. The resumption of the abovementioned ferry services will be subject to the actual reopening time of the affected area of the harbour.

* From 0.30am to 1pm on October 23, cross-harbour bus route No. 961 (Wan Chai bound via Causeway Bay during morning peak) will be diverted to use Convention Avenue instead of Harbour Road, and the terminal point at Expo Drive East will be relocated to the Exhibition Centre Station Public Transport Interchange; while New World First Bus route No. H1 will be diverted to use Gloucester Road instead of Lung Wo Road, and the bus stop at Expo Drive East near Golden Bauhinia Square will be relocated to Convention Avenue opposite the Exhibition Centre Station Public Transport Interchange.

Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. Members of the public planning to go to the affected area are advised to use public transport as far as possible.

The public transport operators will display notices to inform passengers of the temporary arrangements. Public transport users are advised to pay attention to the arrangements of ferry services concerned, bus route diversions and the relocation of bus stops. The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary.

For details on the special traffic and transport arrangements, members of the public can browse the TD's website (www.td.gov.hk) or mobile application "HKeMobility".
