New Vision Arts Festival to present interactive music theatre production "Zoetrope" by O Theatre Workshop (with photo)
******************************************************************************************
The New Vision Arts Festival (NVAF) organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will present the interactive music theatre production "Zoetrope", created by O Theatre Workshop, from November 10 to 13 at the Kwai Tsing Theatre Auditorium. Audiences will be able to participate on the stage to enjoy a new theatre experience.

Director Olivia Yan, art director Man Lim-chung and music director Olivier Cong, together with performers Karena Lam, Tyson Chak, Jason Kong, Oscar Li and Olga Chung, will create a fable about time and loss surrounding four characters. For this production, conventional theatre seating is upended. The audience will be invited to go to the stage and enter different designated areas under the guidance of live music. Each designated area will provide the audience members with a unique experience combining light, shadow and sound, as if they have entered a kaleidoscope.

"Zoetrope" will be held at 8pm from November 10 to 13 and at 3pm on November 12 and 13 at the Kwai Tsing Theatre Auditorium. The performance will be conducted in Cantonese. A meet-the-artist session will be held after the performance on November 11.

Tickets priced at $420 (free seating) are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). For credit card telephone bookings, please call 2111 5999, or use the mobile ticketing app "My URBTIX".

The production is divided into two parts. The first part comprises short videos posted online depicting everyday life and suppressed emotions, and is now available for free viewing at the NVAF webpage at www.nvaf.gov.hk/programmes/27, while the second part is a stage performance juxtaposing reality with overlapping dreamscapes warped in time and space, where inner turmoil, consciousness and the subconscious play against each other.

The NVAF will be held from October 28 to November 20, showcasing a range of creative, pioneering and interdisciplinary programmes. For programme enquiries and concessionary schemes, please call 2370 1044 or visit www.nvaf.gov.hk.
