LCSD to launch "The Music of Franz Schubert" lecture series
*********************************************************************
As 2022 marks the 225th anniversary of the birth of the world-renowned Austrian composer Franz Schubert, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will launch "The Music of Franz Schubert" lecture series from November to December. Hosted by local music critic Ernest Wan, the lecture series will let audiences appreciate the unique charm of Schubert's classical music through analysing the master's works in different genres.

Through four lectures with different themes, Wan will provide audiences with guidance on music appreciation and analyse selected works of Schubert, including lieders, solos, symphonies, operas and sacred music, among which are some hidden treasures in his oeuvre. Audiences will be able to enjoy the subtleties of Schubert's classic repertoires and gain a better understanding of the fascinating aspects of his music.
