******************************************************************************************
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (HKETO, Brussels) and Create Hong Kong are jointly supporting the 55th Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, being held in Sitges, Spain from October 6 to 16 (Spain time).

The Festival is screening a total of six Hong Kong productions or co-productions, three of which were made in 2022: Wai Ka-fai's "Detective vs Sleuths"; Gilitte Leung's "Social Distancing"; Fruit Chan, Fung Chih-chiang and Hoi Ip-sang's "Tales from the Occult". The other three films are Johnnie To's "The Heroic Trio" (1993), and Wong Gam-din's "Portrait of a Serial Rapist" (1994) and "Shoot to Kill" (1994).

HKETO, Brussels hosted a reception on October 9 (Spain time) to promote the Hong Kong productions to media representatives and film industry professionals.

In her welcoming remarks to the audience, the Deputy Representative of HKETO, Brussels, Miss Grace Li, noted that films not only entertained and inspired people, but could also connect different cultures. Miss Li said the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government was committed to supporting Hong Kong film talents and the industry, and had been actively bringing Hong Kong productions to film festivals around the world.

Highlighting Hong Kong's role as an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchanges, further enhanced by the opening of the M+ museum and Hong Kong Palace Museum, Miss Li encouraged audience members to visit Hong Kong and experience the city's vibrant culture.
