United Christian Hospital appeals to public for missing patient

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
 
     The spokesperson for the United Christian Hospital made the following appeal tonight (September 11) regarding a patient leaving the hospital without notifying hospital staff:

     A male patient aged 38 was found to have left the medical ward without notifying hospital staff this evening at around 6.30pm.

     The patient was admitted to the hospital on September 4 because of left upper quadrant pain, and tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day, and was under isolation treatment. He tested negative by rapid antigen test yesterday (September 10) and today, which was Day 6 and Day 7 after confirmed positive, and was transferred back to general ward to continue treatment.

     Upon departure of the patient without informing the ward, security guards were deployed to search for the patient within the hospital compound and the vicinity. The hospital also reported to the Police for assistance. The patient is yet to be located. The hospital is very concerned about the incident and will fully co-operate with the Police in order to locate the patient.

     The patient is about 1.9 meters tall, thin body build, with beard. According to CCTV footage, he was wearing an eye shield, orange jacket, black trousers and blue shoes when he left the hospital.

     The hospital appeals to the public to contact the hospital at 3949 4002 or the Police if they know the whereabouts of the patient.
