*********************************************************************************
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (HKETO, Brussels) promoted Hong Kong as a safe and reliable business partner for Turkish companies, at a seminar in Istanbul today (September 7) (Turkish time).

The seminar encouraged Turkish companies to do business and invest in Hong Kong, and showcased Hong Kong's strengths in financial services, transportation, logistics, innovation and technology. Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Representative of HKETO, Brussels Ms Grace Li emphasised that Hong Kong had the knowledge, expertise and experience to serve as the gateway for Turkish companies to seize the abundant business and investment opportunities offered by China and the Asia-Pacific Region.

Ms Li mentioned that Hong Kong Special Administrative Region continued to benefit immensely from the country's spectacular economic development, with the Special Administrative Region's unique status under the principle of "one country, two systems". She also highlighted the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, in which Hong Kong would continue to play a key role.

The business seminar, which was followed by a networking luncheon, was organised by HKETO, Brussels and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, with the support of InvestHK and the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEIK). Besides speakers from co-organising and supporting organisations, videos from the Belt and Road Summit recently held in Hong Kong were also screened at the event.
