Resumption of services of Transport Department
**********************************************
The Transport Department (TD) today (August 25) announced that services provided in TD's Licensing Offices at Admiralty, Cheung Sha Wan, Kwun Tong and Sha Tin as well as the Public Vehicles Unit, the Cross Boundary Unit and the Driving Test Appointment Office will resume within two hours upon the Hong Kong Observatory's announcement of lowering/cancelling of the No.8 gale or storm signal. The services of Vehicle Examination Centres, driving test services of Driving Test Centres and Written Test Centre will resume in the afternoon.

For vehicle examination scheduled at or after 2pm, vehicle owners or their representatives should present their vehicles for examination according to the scheduled appointments. For vehicle examination appointments scheduled before 2pm, vehicle owners or their representatives can arrange for a free rescheduling via the online booking system or proceed to the appointment counter of the respective Vehicle Examination Centre, together with the original appointment letters, during office hours (from 8.45am to 12.30pm, and 2pm to 4.30pm from Monday to Friday) within five working days after the cancellation of the No.8 gale or storm signal. For enquiries, please contact the relevant Vehicle Examination Centre.

Besides, for applicants who have made an appointment for driving licence related services, renewal of vehicle licence, transfer of vehicle ownership, application for a duplicate vehicle registration document/duplicate vehicle licence, an international driving permit, or retention, transfer or assignment of vehicle registration mark, at any timeslot while the No.8 gale or storm signal was in force or within two hours after the lowering of the signal, they may proceed to the Licensing Offices to submit their applications during opening hours (from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday) within five working days after the cancellation of the No.8 gale or storm signal without the need to make another appointment.

Candidates scheduled for driving test (including road test and written test) this morning will be individually informed of the alternative arrangements.
