LegCo Panel on Transport visits facilities of Citybus Limited (with photos)

The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Transport visited the Citybus Limited (Citybus) today (August 19) to observe their facilities, including the world’s first tri-axle hydrogen fuel cell double deck bus.
Members first took a ride on an electric double deck bus, which was first launched in April this year, from the LegCo Complex to the Citybus Headquarter in Chai Wan to see for themselves the features and equipment of the electric bus.
Upon arriving Citybus Headquarter, Members received a briefing by Mr Cliff Zhang, the Chairman of Bravo Transport Services Limited, the holding company of Citybus, on the company's latest development and the zero-emission transformation campaign, which aims to operate a full-fleet of zero-emission buses by 2045.
Members then observed the tri-axle hydrogen fuel cell double deck bus launched by Citybus in July this year on a trial basis. They learnt about the development and the infrastructure required for the hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (EVs). The Citybus management explained to Members that the hydrogen fuel cell EVs allow longer travel range and faster refuelling speed in comparison with the battery EVs.
Members also took the opportunity to exchange views with the management of Citybus on the future development of new energy public transport and green transport.
A total of 11 members and non-members of the Panel on Transport attended the visit.
