Police combat traffic offences in Sai Kung Division
***************************************************
The Sai Kung Division of Police is stepping up traffic enforcement during summertime to alleviate traffic congestion in the district.

To improve traffic condition at Fuk Man Road, Sai Kung, the Transport Department has implemented special traffic arrangements at a section of Fuk Man Road near Sai Kung Public Pier since January 2022.  All vehicles, except franchised buses, public light buses and taxis, are prohibited from entering the section of Fuk Man Road east of its junction with Wai Man Road from Fuk Man Road eastbound or making left turn movement from Wai Man Road westbound to the aforesaid section from 8am to 8pm on every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday.  Appropriate traffic signs have been erected in the vicinity of Fuk Man Road to guide motorists.

To facilitate the above arrangements of the Transport Department, the Police have strengthened traffic enforcement near Fuk Man Road with the aid of video-recording devices to ensure that the above measures are followed.  The Police also produced a promotional video and published it on the Police’s social media platforms to raise public awareness.

The Police appeal to members of the public to use public transport when visiting Sai Kung on weekends and public holidays amid the peak season for boat trips and hiking, and not to park illegally as it may cause traffic obstruction and even block access of emergency vehicles.
