Sessions on "Spirit of the President's Important Speech" held by Sha Tin, Sai Kung and Central and Western District Offices (with photos)

     ​President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the meeting celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the inaugural ceremony of the sixth-term Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The Sha Tin District Office (STDO), the Sai Kung District Office (SKDO) and the Central and Western District Office (C&WDO) each held sessions in recent days on the topic "Spirit of the President's Important Speech" by inviting different keynote speakers to talk and exchange thoughts on the spirit of the President's important speech.
      
     In addition to the six sessions held on July 8, July 14, July 17, July 18 and 26, the STDO, in collaboration with the Fo Tan Team, the Gracious Love Society, the Project Tomorrow and the Sha Tin Wai Force, yesterday (July 31) jointly held the "Sharing Session of President Xi's Important Speech" at the office of the Sha Tin Rural Committee. Hong Kong Member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Mr Kan Chung-nin was invited to be the keynote speaker. The Division Chief of the New Territories Sub-office of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government (LOCPG) in the HKSAR, Mr Liao Minghua, also spoke at the session. About 100 participants attended the session.
      
     Following the session held on July 16, the SKDO, in collaboration with the Tseung Kwan O District Service Office of the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (FTU), jointly held the "Session to Learn About, Promote and Implement the Spirit of President Xi's Important Speech" at King Lam Neighbourhood Community Centre on July 30. Legistative Council (the LegCo) Member Mr Dennis Leung was invited to be the keynote speaker. The District Officer (Sai Kung), Mr David Chiu, also spoke at the session. About 100 participants attended the session, including members of the FTU and locals in Sai Kung district.
      
     Further to the three sessions held on July 19, July 21 and 25, the C&WDO, together with the Central and Western Branch of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) and the Office of the LegCo Member Mr Chan Hok-fung, jointly held the "Session to Learn About, Promote and Implement the Spirit of President Xi's Important Speech in Central and Western District" at Kennedy Town Community Complex on July 29. The Deputy Secretary for Justice, Mr Cheung Kwok-kwan, and Hong Kong Deputy to the National People's Congress Mr Ip Kwok-him were invited to be the keynote speakers. Member of the LegCo Mr Chan Hok-fung, the Deputy Division Chief of Publicity and Education Division of the Hong Kong Island Sub-office of the LOCPG in the HKSAR, Mr Huang Pengju, and the Chairman of Central and Western Branch of DAB, Mr Yeung Hok-ming, also spoke at the session. About 70 participants attended the session.
      
     Other District Offices will continue to roll out sessions so as to enable more key district figures to obtain a deeper understanding of the spirit of the President's important speech.
