Financial support for frontline cleansing and security workers engaged by non-government works contractors under sixth-round of Anti-epidemic Fund
******************************************************************************************
The Development Bureau (DEVB) announced today (July 29) that financial support will be provided to frontline cleansing and security workers engaged by non-government works contractors or their sub-contractors working at construction sites under the sixth round of the Anti-epidemic Fund.

A monthly allowance of $2,000 for five months (the eligible months for the allowance are the months of February to June this year) will be provided to eligible frontline cleansing and security workers to support their anti-epidemic efforts during the epidemic.

In order to expedite the vetting process and allowance disbursement, the application process has been streamlined, under which applications should be submitted by the principal contractors of non-government construction sites. Frontline cleansing or security workers are not required to submit applications on their own.

The Construction Industry Council (CIC) will process the applications and disburse the allowances for the Government. Upon receipt of application approval, principal contractors should first disburse the allowances to eligible workers and claim reimbursement from the CIC.

The CIC will announce the detailed application arrangement at the dedicated website (www.cic.hk/sscsw) in mid to late August. For enquiries, please call the CIC hotline at 3199 7377 or email sscsw@cic.hk.
