LCSD to present "Our Music Talents Series: Piano Recital by Wong Sze-yuen" in August

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will present "Our Music Talents Series: Piano Recital by Wong Sze-yuen" in August. Young local pianist Wong Sze-yuen will give piano solo performances of familiar classics, showcasing his style of piano virtuosity to the audience.
 
     The programme of the recital covers works of different musical periods, including Mozart's "Variations on 'Salve tu Domine', K. 398"; Schubert's "Ellens dritter Gesang, S. 558, No. 12, 'Ave Maria'" and "Ständchen von Shakespeare, S. 558, No. 9" (transcriptions by Liszt); Busoni's "Sonatina No. 6, BV 284, 'Carmen Fantasie'"; Rachmaninov's "O, Cease Thy Singing, Op. 4, No. 4" (transcription by Earl Wild); and Liszt's "Reminiscences de Don Juan, S. 418".
 
     Wong Sze-yuen obtained a Bachelor of Music degree with First Class Honours from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and was later granted a scholarship to further his studies at the Royal College of Music in London. Wong has won prizes in various international music competitions, including the International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia (Professional Category) and the Asian Youth Music Competition (Senior Group). Having given recitals in the United Kingdom, the United States and France, he has also performed in international music festivals.
 
     "Our Music Talents Series: Piano Recital by Wong Sze-yuen" will be staged at 8pm on August 10 (Wednesday) at the Theatre of Hong Kong City Hall.      In order to comply with the requirements stipulated in the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F) and relevant requirements of administrative instructions, members of the public are required to scan the "LeaveHomeSafe" venue QR code with their mobile phones/other mobile devices before being allowed to enter performing arts venues managed by the LCSD for necessary contact tracing if a confirmed case is found. In accordance with the Prevention and Control of Disease (Vaccine Pass) Regulation (Cap. 599L) and relevant requirements of administrative instructions, all persons entering indoor venues under the management of the LCSD must comply with the requirement of the Vaccine Pass.
