Hospital Authority announces positive patient cases detected via admission screening or testing and clusters of nosocomial COVID-19 infections

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The Hospital Authority today (July 5) announced information regarding patients who tested positive via admission screening or testing with patients or staff members identified as close contacts and nosocomial COVID-19 infection cases.
 
     The following are the statistics of patients who tested positive via admission screening or by testing in public hospitals with patients or staff members identified as close contacts:

     The following are the statistics of clusters of nosocomial infection cases in public hospitals:

     In addition, a 70-year-old male patient of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) Wong Tai Sin Hospital, who was temporarily transferred to Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital due to works in a ward, tested positive for COVID-19 today. Three staff members in the ward concerned also tested positive successively. The patient and the staff members concerned are in stable condition. The infection control team is investigating the linkage among the four cases. Admission and visiting arrangements for the ward concerned have been suspended. Thorough cleaning and disinfection have been conducted. The patient concerned has been transferred back to TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital for isolation and treatment.

     The hospital will closely monitor the health condition of patients and staff members and follow up with the Centre for Health Protection.
