SEN conducts home visits under Celebrations for All project in North District (with photos/video)
******************************************************************************************
The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, visited an elderly singleton and families in need in North District under the Celebrations for All project today (June 16).

Accompanied by the District Officer (North), Mr Chong Wing-wun, as well as members of the North District Council, representatives from district and social welfare organisations and volunteer groups, Mr Wong paid visits to a single elderly person and two grassroots families at Ka Fuk Estate in Fanling to learn about their daily lives and needs. He also distributed gift packs to them to share the joy of the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

Mr Wong said that home visits under the Celebrations for All project is one of the major events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The HKSAR Government has all along been injecting community care into celebratory events, hoping to express community care and concern for the families in need through visiting the less-privileged families in the district and distributing gifts to them.

Mr Wong also expressed heartfelt gratitude to about 20 participating social welfare organisations and district groups in North District that have offered full support to the project. They sent volunteers to visit the singleton and doubleton elderly households, as well as families with special needs to extend warm regards by distributing gift packs to them.

With funding from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Celebrations for All project has been implemented by the 18 District Offices under the Home Affairs Department together with non-governmental organisations and community organisations in the districts to spread the joy of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR to the underprivileged.
